THE BIGGER PICTURE
Casado made his full international debut on Monday evening against Switzerland and played as a lone pivot in the 3-2 win. Head coach Luis de la Fuente heavily rotated his side and employed Casado at the heart of their midfield.
The 21-year-old has become a mainstay in Hansi Flick's Barcelona side after being promoted from the reserve side and has displayed immense maturity as the holding midfielder. His stock is rising every single day and his sublime displays for Spain drew plaudits from his fellow Spain team-mates after the Switzerland game.

WHAT THEY SAID
Bryan Zaragoza, who plays for Granada, was surprised by Casado's performances with La Roja and called him an "animal."
“He’s an animal. I don’t even know what to say about how he played. He's barbarbic," Zaragoza told reporters on Monday (h/t SPORT).
Yeremo Pino also provided his thoughts on the youngster: "He's a machine. He's given a recital, he's already shown his quality at Barca and now he's done it with the national team.”
Lastly, coach De La Fuente also showered Casado with praise and admitted he was surprised by how quickly the midfielder adapted to the international game: “It was impressive how he played in a game and a half with the team, he looked like a veteran for the way he read the game."
