The duo were recently spotted holidaying together and the Netherlands international even reacted to Wirtz's transfer on social media just hours after the move was formally announced.

  Speaking to , the 24-year-old said: "I'm really excited. I'm really looking forward to playing with Liverpool. And of course, Florian Wirtz, my good friend, he's coming too.
